Even the large hands of Ario Costa could hardly hold the large plate, a unique piece created by the master ceramist Gabriele Bucci, nephew and right-hand man of Franco Bucci, which the consortium members wanted to give him as a gift. The farewell greeting (goodbye) for the long Ario was the prelude to the handover with the new president Andrea Valli (read here), in the Eden Viaggi headquarters where the Assembly of the Pesaro Basket Consortium which owns the Victoria Libertas Pesaro was held. “I take full responsibility for this relegation” reiterated Costa, with broad shoulders as usual. «I am convinced that we will return to high levels, we are proud of this Club – he remarked again speaking in the plural – We will see each other in the Arena every time our beloved VL takes the field».
Two new entrepreneurs in the Consortium
The president of the Consortium Franco Arceci welcomed the entry of two new entrepreneurs, which took place in April: Marco Panichi, owner of two companies, Emmetre House Management srl (dealer of fixtures and construction activities) and Panichi Assicurazioni – Groupama. Furthermore, Tiziano Balestrini, owner of Wortech srl, a Pesaro-based company specialized in cardboard packaging technologies.
The memory of Paolini
Giovanni Paolini, who passed away in recent days, was then remembered with a minute’s silence. He was a historic representative of Pesaro basketball who wore the VL shirt for his entire career.
A healed, serious and reliable company: there is the basis for starting again
Arceci also extended special thanks for the work done, passion and seriousness to the four resigning board members: Luciano Amadori, Ario Costa, Fabrizio Malerba and Andrea Rombaldonihighlighting how, in the summer of 2013, they agreed to lead the Club in a moment of enormous organizational and economic difficulties, restoring it and bringing it back – over the course of these 11 years – to establishing itself as a Club synonymous with seriousness and reliability on a national level and with a budget that is always in balance.
Greetings from Ario Costa
Arceci asked Ario Costa, the champion of Pesaro basketball, – president and general director of the Club since the summer of 2013 – to also extend greetings on behalf of the outgoing councillors. «They have been 11 complex years, but in these 11 years we have still seen high-level basketball in Pesaro, making VL a club with an excellent reputation at a national level and beyond. Thanks to the Consortium and the sponsors for the support received, unfortunately my presidency ends with a demotion for which I take responsibility, paying a high price for the initial difficulties. I wish all of us a return to the top league, where Vuelle and Pesaro deserve to be: I am convinced that we will return to those levels, we are proud of this Club. We will see each other in the Arena every time our beloved VL takes the field.”
