Imola is even more attractive, with shop windows and flowerbeds set up with a motoring theme

This afternoon, in the FanZone inside the racetrack, now open to the public, the awards ceremony for the competitions “The racetrack in the city: sustainability and inclusion for a racetrack open to all”, “Giardini in corsa” and “Formula One in the window”, organized by the Municipality on the occasion of the F.1 Grand Prix. Three initiatives promoted by the municipal administration to beautify and make the city increasingly attractive, precisely in the period of the major events at the racetrack, making economic operators, production activities and schools protagonists.

The winners were awarded by the mayor Marco Panieri, the vice mayor and councilor for the School, Fabrizio Castellari and the councilors for the Autodromo, Elena Penazzi and for Productive Activities and the Historic Centre, Pierangelo Raffini.

Competition reserved for schools – The competition aimed at schools is called “The Autodrome in the city: sustainability and inclusion for an Autodrome open to all” primary and lower secondary schools. This year only primary schools participated. The prize has been awarded Andx fair to classes 4A and 4B of the San Giovanni Bosco Private Primary School.

The prize consists of an entrance for the entire class and their teachers to the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Autodrome, during one of the organized events, with a guided tour of the paddock and explanation of the safety measures on the track, in addition to a visit to Race Control and the timekeepers room.

“Running Gardens” competition – The “Giardini in corsa” competition was organized by the Municipality with the aim of enhancing the creativity of the participants, in the landscaping and aesthetic embellishment of the flowerbeds of the places that constitute the main access to the area of ​​the Enzo e Dino International Autodrome Ferrari. The flowerbeds had to be set up in such a way as to combine the public greenery with the following themes: racing and Formula 1; the thirtieth anniversary of the death of drivers Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger.

The competition was aimed at associations, high schools and universities with addresses relevant to the theme of the competition as well as companies operating in the sector and which in various capacities are involved in the design, construction and maintenance of greenery.

Tamong the competing competitors, who created 6 flower beds, which will remain set up until Sunday 19 May. The winner of the first prize and the 800 euros expected for the winner was Iperico Andrea Giardiniere, who also made use of the collaboration of the “La Tartaruga” Social and Occupational Center managed by Seacoop; in second place was Cims, which was awarded 500 euros and in third place was Il Quadrifoglio, which received 300 euros.

“We wanted to re-propose two competitions that we had already experimented with in previous years, one linked to urban decoration and in particular to the station-racetrack axis, embellishing the flowerbeds present with themes linked to Formula 1 and we appreciated that there was a strong response on the Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger theme. In addition to this, the one dedicated to schools, again on Ayrton and Roland, with which we involved the youngest citizens starting from the primary classes and which received some success with attention and contributions. This time too, the involvement we wanted in the city was fully successful” commented the mayor Marco Panieri and the Autodromo councillor, Elena Penazziwho awarded the winners, together with the vice mayor Fabrizio Castellariregarding the competition reserved for schools.

“Formula One in the Showcase” Competition – The “Formula One in the Showcase” competition was intended for neighborhood commercial activities and has the objective of creating the opportunity for citizens and visiting guests to find a greater festive atmosphere and to give greater prominence to the local distribution network. , with a view to place branding.

All businesses with a shop window located in the municipal area could participate, with the exception of businesses with headquarters and shop windows in shopping centers or galleries (with the exception of the gallery in the city centre). Participation in the competition was free and open.

This year the competition was aimed at three very important themes, in these weeks from April to May, dedicated to major events, namely the WEC, the thirty years since the death of Senna and Ratzenberger and finally Formula 1.

10 economic operators participated in the competition, setting up shop windows mainly on the theme of “Formula 1” and the 30th anniversary of the death of Senna and Ratzenberger, with the winning ones focusing on the theme of “F1”, but also including quotes and references to figure of Senna and Ratzenberger. In the installations, they used not only materials and merchandise to recreate sets and subjects, but also paintings chosen specifically. The windows will remain set up until Sunday 19 May.

The first prize, consisting of 500 euros, was won by Mamigì from Giada Savoia (via Fanin, 7); in second place was “Jolie” by Juna Fontanelli (piazza Matteotti, 12-13), which received the 300 euros for the second prize and third place for “Nuova Landi” by Nadia Marani and Paola Lobbruzzo (viale Saffi, 26e), in which went to 200 euros.

The windows of merchants, shops and traders decorated throughout Imola, particularly in the historic centre, and dedicated to Ayrton Senna, Roland Ratzenberger and Formula 1 play a fundamental role in promoting the event and attracting visitors. attention of residents and visitors.
