THE INTERVENTION OF THE MAYOR CANDIDATE
“The support of the citizens and the determination of the candidates are a great source of energy for me. The centre-right presents itself as united, as it did this evening, at the electoral meeting to give Castellammare a future of development, growth and concreteness”. “Ours is a long and structured program of over 50 pages. Theirs? A booklet of abstract ideas, the result of a logical jumble that put together more lists, thirteen, than program pages, just eight. In their coalition defectors and their relatives hid. They accuse each other and pretend not to know that their ranks include entrepreneurs mentioned in the dissolution order. They have given in to the unwanted and are pointing the finger at us. That instead we have ideas, coherence and shared vision. We will start from thoughtful construction, from the facades and buildings and streets of the center and suburbs. We will be consistent and firm on saying no to the underpass, which they cannot do because their regional references have already decided in agreement with Eav to build the underpass and split a neighborhood in two and throw traffic into chaos for years. We will break down the distances and differences between the center and the suburbs, we will intervene forcefully to regenerate the Savorito, the San Marco, Ponte Persica, the Annunziatella and the Acqua della Madonna. We will work in this way to reach an agreement with IACP. On the security front we have planned the implementation of the municipal police force. At the same time we will increase the organic structure of the Municipality. The fight against illegal trade and counterfeiting will be one of our priorities because we are convinced that every form of illegality must be tackled decisively. And with the same energy we will work to relaunch separate waste collection and environmental protection. We deal with everyone every day and we will always do so, entrepreneurs, traders, ordinary citizens must know that we are the only ones who can guarantee governability for an entire mandate. Otherwise, the administration would last a couple of months.”
THE OTHER INTERVENTIONS
And to give their support to the mayoral candidate Mario D’Apuzzo came the former mayor Luigi Bobbio, the Fi deputy, Annarita Patriarca, the magistrate Catello Maresca, the former senator and citizen coordinator of Forza Italia, Nello Di Nardo, the senator of Fi, Franco Silvestro, the deputy of Italia Viva, Nello Vitiello. Annarita Patriarca takes the lead: “Ours is a coalition that has common values, programmatic lines and vision of the city. D’Apuzzo is a strong candidate, a decent, generous man and a serious professional. The man to whom we want to entrust Castellammare di Stabia. Because for us Stabia comes before everything.” From Silvestro came the appeal to focus “on an electoral campaign based on facts and on the program to be implemented and not on the contentless squabbles of the opponents”. For Maresca begins “a path of legality and culture, of knowledge and search for the truth to lay the foundations of the future, only in this way can we regain citizens’ trust in the programs and ideas and in the people who must implement them”. Vitiello spoke of a shared path “based on moderation” and also underlined “anti-mafia is done, not said. When you ask for safety, you need to lead by example. Castellammare is not Camorra but it is work, merit, competence, tourism. Mario D’Apuzzo is the perfect expression of our idea of the future and the person on whom we at Italia Viva managed to find the synthesis with the centre-right”. Luigi Bobbio spoke of “retying the threads of a virtuous path started by the center-right and interrupted twice in an unfair manner. The dissolution was an act against the center-right. A provision on which the Council of State has already put a tombstone due to lack of documentation. With these assumptions, the TAR can only confirm the sentence. But beyond this – he continued – I vote and will have Mario D’Apuzzo voted because with him the relaunch path that the center-right has established first with my administration and then with the Cimmino administration will resume. We are the ones who enter homes and who know the problems and needs of citizens, we don’t engage in rhetoric. Unlike this left, if we can still call it that, which is a rainbow where we find candidates who for personalistic convenience alone are with them and I name the names: Vincenzo Ungaro and Sabrina De Gennaro.
