Modena, 16 May 2024 – More fraudulent text messages. After fake messages by banks with the intention of empty the accountsome criminals have also invented the SMS scam that seem to be coming (but that’s not the case in reality) from the ASL. The alarm comes from the Modena healthcare company itself which warns that “in recent weeks some scam attempts have been reported to the Modena Local Health Authority via SMS on citizens’ cell phones”.
In particular, “a lady contacted the Public Relations Office reporting that she had received a text message in which you were invited to contact alleged social and health offices to listen to a communication. According to reports, the number the recipient is asked to call is a high rate with connection fee (prefix 893), the answerer would be a person who qualifies as alleged operator of a cooperative that would be connected to the ASL: it is underlined that it’s not about it in no way a service of the Local Health Authority but of a scam attempt and citizens are invited to report cases of this type to the police. The Local Health Authority itself reported two cases of which the relevant law enforcement agencies became aware.”
