The damage to the commemorative plaque in via Fratelli Gualandi, in memory of the massacre of 3 November 2007, is an attack on dignity, respect and memory of a man who sacrificed his own life to save others in the fulfillment of his duty and, in particular, to provide aid to the other victim, Giuseppe Di Gianfelice.
I express mine solidarityand that of the City, to Luigi Zippo’s family, his loved ones and colleagues.
We cannot and must not allow the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the common good to be tarnished by acts of contempt that have nothing to do with our community.
