A total of 88 business projects have been presented in five small Umbrian municipalities deemed eligible by the Ministry of Culture. In the last few hours the ministry has published the ranking relating to the notice for the support of entrepreneurial initiatives for the regeneration of small historic villages. The notice is one of the measures of the Pnrr, intended in particular to promote the attractiveness of the villages by making approximately 200 million euros available.

THE COMPLETE LIST OF PROJECTS

The projects The document draws up a list of over 3,100 proposals admitted to evaluation for a total of 294 assigned municipalities. As regards Umbria, we are talking about Cascia, Otricoli, Montecastello di Vibio, Massa Martana and Pietralunga, whose projects are worth approximately 6.6 million euros. For the Green Heart as well as for the rest of Italy we will now have to wait for a subsequent provision which will concretely allocate resources within the limits of available funds; at that point it will be understood how many will actually be financed.

Support The projects will support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises that want to «promote in an innovative way – explains the Ministry – the regeneration of small municipalities through the offer of services, both for the local population and for visitors, as well as environmental sustainability, proposing projects attentive to the reduction of polluting emissions, the reduction of consumption, the disposal of waste, and circular economy solutions”.

Sangiulian «The historic villages – writes Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano in a note – constitute the backbone of the Italian cultural heritage, an expression of a beauty admired throughout the world which is essential to protect and enhance. Preventing depopulation and giving a new soul to these places is one of the most ambitious challenges that we want to overcome, which is why we are committed to spending the economic resources that the Pnrr has allocated for this purpose with seriousness, efficiency and foresight.”
