The rift between the two opposition councilors Erica Celestini And Nadia Ciprietti (the latter fresh candidate for mayor) led to the exclusion from the list of the former, who is now shooting at nothing. «My non-presence in the “Change with us Sant’Omero” list was not my choice, but imposed by the candidate Ciprietti», says Celestini, «the minority colleague gave life to her electoral list without comparison with her opposition group and without the large audience of supporters. “Change with us Sant’Omero”, although legitimate, is a solitary political expression and the civic experience of Sant’Omero is over».
Erica Celestini (in administration already in 2004) speaks of a veto by Ciprietti, who evidently considers her colleague divisive, unwelcome to public opinion, incapable of working in a team. «I would add that many other vetoes on my candidacy were placed by supporters of “Change with us Sant’Omero” who in the past supported Mayor Luzii’s lists», continues Erica Celestini, «I want to remember and not for protagonism that with every candidacy undertaken by me I have always been among the most voted on the list, history is witness to this, so this veto is widely denied and swept away. This solitary choice by Ciprietti could play into the hands of a Luzii ter, a mayor who after nine and a half years has implemented works of a purely electoral nature. I can say, with my head held high, that in these years and in the others that have characterized my political commitment I have always had respect for roles, customs and people by working within the group in an active and choral manner, whereas for some it was just the necessary passage for a self-proclaimed solo role with some obliging extras”.
