The parents of the students of the schools of the comprehensive institute 9, which has two nursery schools, two elementary schools and a middle school scattered between Villafranca and Roncadello, are not stopping and have called a protest today. Practically, the students of the school complexes will desert class hours today, while the adults organized two demonstrations as early as 8 in the morning, one near the Glauco Fiorini middle school in Villafranca (headquarters of the institute) and the other in Roncadello, also close to the school complex. “It is necessary to give a strong signal – explains the parents’ committee -, after what happened. There is a climate of tension at school which also affects the children. We know that the regional school office has everything in its hands, but we also know the bureaucratic times. We need a solution as soon as possible.” The protest comes a week after the banners hung in the various institutions and since the police intervened to mediate the meeting between parents and the school director. After weeks of tug-of-war, the meeting between parents and principal took place but with the supervision of the police. A comparison which, to date, has not led to any improvement and which sees the families of the students convinced and united in the fact that the climate is being reflected in the students who are starting to feel stress and, in some cases, not wanting to go to school. In fact, within the institute there have been strong tensions for months, in particular between the teaching staff and administrative and technical staff on the one hand and the manager on the other. Some teachers have already asked for the transfer (although currently some seem to have backed down while waiting for a solution and in any case do not rule out being able to take advantage of the June window if the problem is not resolved), while others have resigned from additional roles they held (the same meeting called last Wednesday lasted more than 4 hours ed.). According to what has been possible to reconstruct, relations are so damaged that there was an inspection by the Regional School Office, which concluded in recent weeks and the results of which are still awaited. In short, although the trade unions have also asked the school administration itself to intervene quickly, the dissatisfaction of teachers and parents is increasingly tangible. That last week’s meeting had not been clarifying was immediately clear the following day with the posting of some banners. Today the strike, with children who will not go to school and parents protesting in Roncadello and Villafranca.
