He was under house arrest with an electronic bracelet after, at the end of February, he was caught in possession of a knife near the place where he had arranged to meet a minor with whom he had had a relationship in the previous four years.
At the beginning of May, however, using a ruse he escaped to reach the girl’s house where he set fire to her mother’s car, a fire which also affected other cars, endangering an entire residential complex.
A twenty-two year old was arrested by the police in Corigliano Rossano on charges of arson and escape.
According to what was reconstructed by the carabinieri who conducted the investigation coordinated by the Castrovillari prosecutor Alessandro D’Alesso, the young man managed to leave his home by simulating illness and asking for the help of an ambulance which took him to hospital from where he was then discharged.
At that point the twenty-two-year-old would have reached the ex-girlfriend’s house to set fire to her mother’s car, a fire that spread to other cars.
Subsequently, the 22-year-old returned to hospital where he contacted the police to report that he had been discharged and could go home.
The investigations carried out by the Carabinieri investigators would have made it possible to reveal what really happened and which led to the arrest of the boy with the aggravation of the previous precautionary measure. Now the twenty-two year old is in prison.
