Perugia advances to the play offs! A 0-0 draw against Rimini is enough for Al Grifo to access the first round of the national play-off, with the pairings to be drawn on Sunday morning at 9.30am. The red and whites don’t play a good match, practically never finishing on target and in the second half they suffer but withstand the blow. We return to the pitch on Tuesday 14th for the first leg match and on Saturday 18th for the return match.
FIRST HALF
The first half at the Curi is very blocked. The first ring (10′) belongs to Perugia with Torrasi who takes the ball from outside the area and hits a volley, missing the goal. Morra responds two minutes later (12′) caught in depth by Sala. The attacker sends it over the crossbar from a tight angle. On the turnaround in front, Matos (13′) comes into his own and unloads a shot from outside. However, he too lacks precision. The last opportunity of the first half is at the feet of Lisi (40′) who receives it in the area from Vazquez but is saved by Colombi.
SECOND HALF
Grifo starts the second half badly. It was Rimini who took control of the game and made themselves more dangerous with a series of persistent actions. However, the red and whites manage to raise the wall. First they reject Semeraro’s shot (53′) and then Paz (56′) intervenes to clear the area on Langella’s cross from the right. Formisano’s men, who lost Paz after an hour of play, responded with outbursts and in particular on set pieces. Lewis emerges at the far post (63′) and sends out the free kick taken by Torrasi. The number 24 (68′) is still the protagonist as he shoots directly from the midfield but fails to surprise Colombi. In full injury time, Perugia rushes forward: Kouan tries but misses the target. It is Adamonis who blocks the last ball and Rimini’s last hopes of scoring with his gloves.
