MAURIZIO PETRACCA: “THE NEW LAW ON WINE TOURISM APPROVED IN THE REGIONAL COUNCIL” – Political Agenda

It was approved during this afternoon’s session of the Campania Regional Council bill dedicated to wine tourism activities presented as the first signatory by regional councilor Maurizio Petraccapresident of the Agriculture Commission, The text was approved with the unanimous vote of the entire chamber, confirming how the regulation of wine tourism in Campania is considered a necessity to regulate an activity that can be an instrument of productive and employment growth for the many Campania companies involved in viticulture.

Satisfaction is expressed by president Petracca: “With this law – he declares – let’s fill a legislative gap and place Campania among the few, very few Italian regions to be equipped with a modern and streamlined legislative instrument, which regulates wine tourism activity without further bureaucratic burdens, but with the intention, on the contrary, of encouraging its diffusion and protect its qualitative aspect”.

It deals with – adds the president of the Agriculture Commission – of a measure that will make the Campania wine industry make a leap in quality. It represents a great opportunity for our companies in terms of enhancing the wineries and the territory on which they are located from a tourist point of view. To confirm this, I requested and obtained, upon approval by the Commission, a financial allocation which will serve for a more widespread dissemination and promotion of the text and its regulatory contents.”.

The law on wine tourism – adds Petracca – has the advantage of having been written practically together with those for whom it is intended, i.e. the producers, having held various discussions with company realities to arrive at the definition of a text that is as much in line as possible with the needs of the sector which remains one of the engines of the Campania agri-food industry”.

The law regulates wine tourism activities, establishes the minimum operating requirements, defines the training opportunities to obtain the necessary qualifications to carry out wine tourism activities and establishes the regional observatory dedicated to wine tourism.

The law – concludes Petracca – it is important in particular for the internal areas of Campania which are more suited to viticulture also with a view to deseasonalizing tourist flows and diversifying the tourist offer. The law is therefore a very useful tool because it allows the productive fabric, tourist activities and territories to communicate”.
