TOURNAMENT – In the splendid setting of Sardinia, the Bianconeri triumphed with Esordienti (on penalties against the hosts, after having eliminated Roma and Cagliari), Pulcini (in front of the super Lascaris, who came within a step of the dream) and Primi Calci (in a prestigious podium with Milan, Monza and Ajaccio)

Juventus returns from Sardinia with a full cup of trophies: the Bianconeri, in fact, won the City of Olbia Trophy with all three categories in contention. But it was certainly no walk in the park, given the participation of 68 amateur teams and 12 professional teams (with the kids being a year younger) in an event which, since its first edition, has demonstrated perfect organization and great potential for the future.

In the splendid setting of Sardinia, 4 sports facilities were engaged simultaneously to manage the hundreds of matches played in an intense weekend of play. In the 2011 Debutants category, Pietro Magri’s Juventus 2012 had to bring out all its technical and character resources to beat the competition: everything was easy in the preliminary round, but already in the quarter-finals the super challenge with Roma, won by 1- 0. With the same partial, the Bianconeri beat Cagliari in the semi-final, and then challenged the hosts Olbia (a very competitive team and “excited” by the victory in the derby against Torres) in a final full of emotions. Olbia took the lead, but was caught at the end by the young Marchisio, until the penalty shootout which rewarded the Turin team.

In the Pulcini category, after the quarter-finals, among the best four of the competition there was a final round with two professionals (Cagliari lost the all-Sardinian match against Torres, Ajaccio – arriving from Corsica – was already exited in the elimination rounds) and two amateurs, including the super Lascaris who achieved a splendid second place, beaten only by the champions Juventus; third place for Torres, Roma off the podium. All four professionals, however, reached the gold group in the First Kicks category, but the final verdict was always the same: Juventus on the top step of the podium, silver medal for Milan, bronze for Monza and fourth place for Ajaccio.
