Twenty works by Corrado Giaquinto on display in the municipal library – MolfettaLive.it

From 11 May to 16 June, the municipal library in the Fabbrica di San Domenico hosts an international exhibition. Twenty works by will be exhibited Corrado Giaquinto, painter from Molfetta, among the protagonists of the history of eighteenth-century European art. Five of his master, Francesco Solimenaone of the greatest figures in the development of Baroque and Rococo.

The exhibition, curated by professor Gaetano Mongelliis organized by the association for the diffusion of southern art, Partenope. Entrance is free. It avails itself of the patronage of the Municipality, department of culture, and the support of important private partners.

«We strongly wanted to reconnect the threads of our history – the Mayor’s comment Tommaso Minervini – with this exhibition by Corrado Giaquinto. We wanted it in the new, splendid municipal library. Jewel of the pride of the present with new innovated services so much so that within a few months of reopening it has become the pulsating center of the meeting of young people, children, enthusiasts. One of the many changes that enter the history of Molfetta.”

All the works on display come from Bonasia collection and have long been acquired in private collections throughout Italy.
