The investigators would be working to investigate the trail of a murder-suicide that arose due to Laura Lupo’s deep jealousy towards her husband Pietro Delia, with whom she had been in crisis for some time.
For the moment, these are only rumors coming from Palermo, where on the third floor of a building in Via Notarbartolo 49, the police found the bodies of two spouses, a man and a woman aged around 60. There is talk of a marital crisis between Laura Lupo, 62 year old municipal police inspector and her husband Pietro Delia. According to what has been reconstructed so far, the woman would have used the service pistol against her husband, Pietro Delia, a former BNL employee, and then pointed the weapon at herself. The Carabinieri are investigating the case and the reconstruction of the dynamics of the murder-suicide, according to the investigators, leaves no room for doubt.
However, what is still to be clarified is the motive behind the tragedy. Investigators would be busy shedding light on some rumors of a crisis in the relationship between the two spouses. According to colleagues, Laura Lupo’s mood had visibly changed and those who had worked with her all her life spoke of a person “deeply troubled by her personal problems”.
According to what has been reconstructed so far, there could be morbid jealousy on the part of the 60-year-old at the basis of the crime which then culminated in suicide. The autopsy on the bodies of the two spouses will be carried out next week at the Polyclinic: the medical examiner would have found the used gun still in the woman’s hand, on which wounds to the head and neck were instead found.

Everything would have occurred between 6.30 in the morning and 7: the door of the house was locked from the inside and there were no signs of forced entry other than those left by the firefighters who had to break through the armored door to gain entry.
The couple’s daughter was alerted by the neighbors who, after hearing the shots, contacted the young woman to ask her to check. The girl, unable to contact her parents, then alerted the firefighters who forced her entry and found the bodies on the ground. At that point the police were called of the company of San Lorenzo.
The couple’s other son, who lives in Milan, was alerted to the terrible news by other relatives. Six shell casings were counted on the floor: according to a still provisional reconstruction, Laura Lupo fired four fatal shots at her husband which hit him in the chest and abdomen and then turned the gun on herself. After the first gunshot the woman was only injured, but in the end she took her own life.
