“They defined themselves fascists and then they have us attacked“. It happened yesterday, Saturday 4 May, around 5pm Pavia near Cavagneria Square. The victims are the provincial secretary of Italian Left Pavia, Luca Testoni and the regional representative ofYouth Union of the Left Youth of the party, Lorenzo Colombo. And they made it known with a statement which reads that while they were distributing election leaflets, they were attacked by two passers-by, the first of whom defined himself as a fascist and “son of Mussolini“. The second, however, hit with a punch to the face Colombo by knocking off the glasses he was wearing. The attackers then moved away but Colombo followed them, peacefully, to ask for their personal details and thus initiate legal action against the two. But upon request, there was the second violent episode: another punch to the face first to Colombo and then to Testoni while the latter was on the phone on a call with the police. The two “fascists” then met disappeared running away towards Piazza Duomo.

The militants of the Italian Left were brought to the emergency room of the Pavia hospital with minor injuries, for them a few days of prognosis. “It is unacceptable – he states in a note Italian Left Pavia – that in the city, for the umpteenth time, fascists who feel authorized to circulate undisturbed use violence on anyone for no reason. It is unacceptable that the electoral campaign takes place in a climate of violence that prevents free citizens and party militants from carrying out their political activities safely. The Pavia right has for years made propaganda about the safety of the city.”
