TURIN (ITALPRESS) – On the last day of Serie A, Juventus beat Monza 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium, finishing their championship in third place, awaiting Atalanta. Everything happens in the first half and the decisive goals are scored by Chiesa and Alex Sandro. Montero surprises in his formation choices, lining up Juve with the trident and with Iling and Weah on the sidelines. The Bianconeri had fun on the pitch, thanks to their offensive deployment, defeating an intense and aggressive Monza. At the start, the Brianza team dribbled with personality and, in the 9th minute, after a free kick taken in the area, the attempts of D’Ambrosio, Dany Mota and Colpani were all blocked by the home defence. After the scare, Juve began to create scoring opportunities, even hitting the crossbar with Fagioli. The goal is now in the air and Chiesa takes care of the game in the 26th minute: the former Fiorentina player scores the 1-0 after bypassing D’Ambrosio and finishing powerfully at the near post. Two minutes later, following a corner, Alex Sandro doubled his header ahead of a distracted Dany Mota. Very lively match also in the second half with Monza who didn’t fit and tried to shorten the result. In the 51st minute Birindelli shoots from inside the power area, but his shot is saved by a super Pinsoglio, who came on at half-time for Perin. Juve’s third goalkeeper will also repeat himself shortly afterwards on Djuric’s header. On the other hand, Sorrentino also gives his best, doing well to stop Chiesa coming out low. Of note in the 74th minute was the Stadium’s ovation for Alex Sandro’s exit from the pitch, his last appearance in black and white as the most present foreigner in the club’s history together with Nedved. At the end, Monza’s offensive attempts came to a halt with Zerbin’s expulsion. Juve thus ends the 2023-2024 championship at 71 points with nineteen victories; Monza, however, finishes twelfth and will probably have to plan their future without Palladino.
