Porto Torres: Gatani presents the book on his uncle, Judge Borsellino

“Fifty-seven days, I’ll take you with me to Paolo’s House” is the title of the book by Roberta Gatani, niece of judge Paolo Borsellino, which will be presented on Tuesday 28 May at 6pm in the Filippo Canu room in Porto Torres.

The event, promoted by the “M.Paglietti” Institute and sponsored by the Municipality, will be attended by the city authorities and Daniele Taras, head teacher of the Mario Paglietti Institute of Higher Education. The appointment is one of the stages that the author is taking, in various schools in Italy, to tell the story of the period between the Capaci and Via d’Amelio massacres – which occurred on 23 May and 19 July 1992 – in which first judge Giovanni Falcone and then his colleague Paolo Borsellino were killed.

Gatani retraces the days that Borsellino spent seeking the truth about Falcone’s death, before he too lost his life at the hands of the mafia. During the presentation, the author will also illustrate the reality of “Paolo’s House”, a social promotion association born from the will of Salvatore Borsellino – Paolo’s brother, who will intervene via streaming – to give a better future to the young people of the Kalsa district of Palermo, where both Falcone and Borsellino were born. They will dialogue with the author Serenella Paddeu, teacher of the Paglietti Institute, Riccardo Matera, teacher of the Comprehensive Institute 1, and Giorgia Oppo, contact person for Red Agendas of the “Emanuela Loi” Group – Sardinia.
