Difficult day at Olbia airport, after an Enav plane ended up off the runway. An accident which, fortunately, did not cause any injuries but which literally sent the Sardinian airport into a tailspin, with canceled flights and almost zero air traffic, with over 30 flights accumulating significant delays.
Olbia, chaos at the airport
Olbia’s Costa Smeralda airport is still closed after a small ENAV radio measurement plane, the Piaggio P180, he ended up off the track without any injuries.
The impact on traffic at the Gallura airport is significant between arrivals and departures: 32 flights delayed, 4 canceled and three diverted to other Sardinian airports.
According to the Notam warning for pilots, the stop is currently active until 8pm this evening.
In detail the two flights were cancelled arriving and departing for Milan Linate by Aeroitalia, one Easyjet departing for Bergamo and one Ryanair also for Bergamo Orio al Serio.
A Ryanair plane from Bergamo and a Volotea plane from Paris Orly were diverted to Alghero, while the Easyjet plane from Milan Malpensa landed in Cagliari. Overall, the delays so far concern 15 arriving and 17 departing flights.
