Mattia Germinario (8) and Andrea De Gennaro (10) enter the Top ten of Apulian chess players, thanks to the excellent performances provided in the 3 days of the 2024 regional championship, which took place in Cerignola, in the civic museum complex.
They faced high-level players in 6 rounds of play, they lost a few rounds but got back up immediately, they always won, demonstrating that they could deserve this ranking. The tournament was won by the chess player from Bari Davide Benedetto, who won the title of Apulian Regional Champion for 2024
ScacchiAmo’s young Under 18 chess players, Gianluigi Bonvino and Gianluca Mezzina, also performed well by placing themselves in the top 20 places, leaving behind older and more experienced chess players.

On Sunday 5 May in Barletta, there will be a repeat for the Under 18s only, who will compete for the regional category title for which ScacchiAmo has many expectations given the recent results achieved by the youngest.
