Problem solving Olympics, Marconi protagonist

CIVITAVECCHIA – Gabriele Cecere, Saba Mamagulashvili, Matteo Meloni and Francesco Tarantino are the four students, all of the 2B computer science class of the Guglielmo Marconi Institute, who played in the national final of the Problem Solving Olympics in Cesena last April 12th. Accompanying them is Professor Pierluigi Iachini.

The “Problem Solving Olympics” every year see students from all over Italy engaged in competitions that promote key skills for solving problems through models, methods and IT tools, i.e. part of the “soft skills” that can be used in an increasingly competitive employment scenario as digital transformation progresses.

The boys, after having deservedly qualified for the regional phase by ranking as the first team in Lazio, competed with students from all over Italy and, despite not taking home the trophy, they made their mark.

Among other things, already last year a Marconi team had played in the final and also Gabriele Cecere had participated in the individual section as the winner of the Lazio Region. All that remains is to wait for the next edition.
