This weekend could already be decisive: everything will depend on the results on Saturday and Sunday

Serie A Elite: last resort for Colorno and Mogliano. The program of the 2nd day of the playoffs (ph. Luca Fomentini)

After the two clear successes of Viadana and Rovigo in the first weekend of the Serie A Elite playoffs, the situation for Colorno and Mogliano has already become very complicated. In fact, the two teams have a single match available to get back into the running, but it may not be enough.

Colorno, after the clear 33-10 suffered by Viadana, will have to play everything against Valorugby in the match on Saturday 4 May at 2.15pm. Casellato’s team must necessarily win with the bonus point to reach Viadana at the top of the table, knowing that they will then not play any more matches and that everything will be decided by the match between the winner of the regular season and the Emilians.

In group 2 Mogliano, despite losing, managed not to grant the offensive bonus point to Rovigo, and this improves the situation. In any case, the Venetians must win the home of Petrarca to still have a chance of qualifying: the match will be played on Sunday 5 May at 5.30pm. If Marcato’s team wins, the Italian derby on Sunday 12 May will transform into a true semi-final. However, if Mogliano were to win, it could reach or even surpass (in case of bonus) Rovigo in the standings, and in that case we would reach the last day with all 3 teams still in contention for the final.
