The man arrested on the night between Tuesday 30 April and Wednesday 1 May by the Terni state police is a 67-year-old Campanian multiple-convict. The Flying Squad patrol, sent to the Campitello neighborhood for a report that arrived at the operations room warning of a suspicious car near some garages, immediately identified the reported car, stopped in front of a garage, open, with the key inserted in the dashboard and the engine is still hot. At the same time a man came out of a garage and put various objects on the ground: he was stopped and checked, as was the material he had with him. That is, a hammer drill, two grinders, a motor pump and various cans of drinks; Two screwdrivers, various swords for picking locks and a torch were found on the man. In the car the officers instead found a bicycle, an electric chainsaw, a black bag with sports clothing, three fishing rods, milk, oil and an industrial electrical cable. The 67-year-old was unable to provide any explanation regarding his possession of all that material, much less why he was there in the middle of the night. The owner of the garage confirmed that the objects placed on the ground were hers and formalized the complaint shortly afterwards at the police station. From the database check, a long trail of crimes emerged: theft, receiving stolen goods, unjustified possession of altered keys or lock picks, attempted murder, damage, threats. The arrest for theft was communicated to the public prosecutor on duty who ordered the very direct procedure in which the judge ordered the precautionary measure of the obligation to reside at his home in the province of Naples.
