He disembarks in Cagliari, after the success achieved in Bologna, the Pollicino project, the innovative mobility survey which proposes new solutions to collect, analyze and share data on habits mobility of the city’s inhabitants.

The project is promoted by Municipality of Cagliari as part of the activities of the Cagliari Digital Lab with the patronage of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, the National Association of Italian Municipalities and the Sustainable University Network, in collaboration with the Metropolitan City of Cagliari , the Foundation for Sustainable Development and the technological support of GreenShare, partner of the Cagliari Digital Lab.

The investigation will start on April 20, when will the collection of mobility data to which all citizens of the metropolitan city of Cagliari over the age of 16 can offer their contribution.

Participating is very simple. Simply download the IoPollicino app on your phone and consent to the processing of your personal data and the geolocation of your smartphone. At this point it is sufficient to keep the app active for 7 days, even if not consecutive, so that all daily movements are recorded automatically and anonymously. It is not necessary to dedicate more than a few minutes a day to check, validate the data collected and add some essential information.

At the end of the seven days of investigation, having successfully completed all the objectives proposed by the app, your contribution to the Pollicino project can be considered concluded.

This type of investigation allows us to enrich the mobility planning of the future. Knowledge of citizens’ mobility habits and behaviors is a fundamental component for intervening and modifying mobility within a territory, identifying more efficient solutions with lower environmental impacts.

Once the first phase dedicated to data collection has been completed, the analysis phase will begin which will lead to the publication of a report with the results of the Pollicino investigation and the organization of a public event open to all citizens of Cagliari, scheduled for September 2024.
