a charity show in Barletta to support the Italian Kabuki Syndrome Association and celebrate inclusion – BarlettaLive.it

The event, now in its 3rd edition, aims to support the work of the Italian Kabuki Syndrome Association: a voice for those who experience this condition and for their families. Through emotional support, information and research, the association is committed to raising funds to finance scientific research. Symptoms of the rare genetic disease include: mild developmental delay, feeding difficulties and growth difficulties. The syndrome, which takes its name from the Japanese theater mask: Kabuki, presents with pronounced facial features: large eyes, prominent ears and thin lips.

The initiative was organized by Elena Ferrante, mother of a boy with Kabuki syndrome and is sponsored by the Municipality of Barletta.

The evening will begin with performances by the students of the musical branch of the “Casardi” school in Barletta, curated by the teacher Marco Valerio, and that of the drummer Antonio Cristiano. An inaugural moment that will excite spectators with the beauty of music and that will lay the foundations for the important message of inclusion underlying the entire show.

The central part will be dedicated to the stories of courageous and determined mothers who will share their personal experiences, offering a precious opportunity to better understand the challenges and joys that accompany life with this syndrome. Among the speakers in the parenthesis: Lorena Tunzi, doctor in pedagogical sciences and educational planning and Vincenzo Antonio Gallo, teacher and member of the Italian coordination of support teachers and trainer of OrizzonteScuola.

Finally, the atmosphere will be filled with energy and joy with the final part of the show which will present an exciting dance performance by the schools: “Invito alla dance” by Barletta, directed by Monica Mango, and “I care” by San Ferdinand of Puglia, directed by Grazia Ferrante. The dancers, with their grace and skill, will enchant the audience and convey the universal message of solidarity and inclusion.
