The Under 15s of Pordenone Weightlifting win the Italian championships

Pordenone – The Pordenone Weightlifting team returned from the recent Italian Under 15 weightlifting championships, held in Rome (20 and 21 April) with the usual haul of medals and placings. In total there were 3 Italian titles, to which are added a silver medal, two bronze medals and two fourth places, in addition to the Italian team title in the women’s category and third place in the men’s classification.
On the shields, as expected, Sara Dal Bo’, who in addition to winning the title lifted 120 kg in the momentum test, an Italian record, but not only that: a world-class performance. Basically there are no Under 15 athletes in the world capable of keeping up with her. Which makes her the most anticipated athlete at the next Under 17 World Championships scheduled in Lima, Peru, on May 26th. Gold also for Daniele Coral in the -73 kg and performances (95 clean, 119 clean), which allow him to join the national team for the Under 15 European Championships in June. Another Italian title for Leonardo Tognini in -102, another boy with enormous potential.
Carlotta Cavaliere’s silver was extraordinary, as she was the youngest athlete competing in the entire event and started with competitive weightlifting just a year ago.
Bronze for Matilde Tomé, who improved by over 10 kg since the last competition and for Anica Finati, an athlete who recently arrived at the weights, coming from artistic gymnastics. Behind the latter was Nicole Motta, another new entry in weightlifting, coming from athletics. Fourth place also went to Vittoria Turchet, who also won bronze in the snatch, while in the total she improved her personal best by over 20 kg.
