Labor Day, Zaia: “Thanks to those who contribute to the productivity of Veneto”

A “thought of gratitude to all those who, despite the difficulties, contribute every day” to making the Veneto “one of the most important production districts in Europe”. And a “thought in particular to those who don’t have a job at the moment or are looking for a better or more suitable one, with the hope of overcoming the difficulties soon and that the aspiration can quickly be realized”. Luca Zaia, president of Veneto, said these words on the occasion of Labor and Workers’ Day. It falls in a time in which smart working, teleworking, digital nomadism and short weeks have found space alongside traditional employment methods. However, “times change but not the meaning of work as a universal value to be defended, a catalyst for growth and progress for families and the community, as well as a guarantee of well-being and social security. Best wishes to all the Venetians, whatever the work they do and in whatever modality”, says Zaia, recalling that tomorrow “is everyone’s day, an occasion that must unite, a moment that does not lose its relevance, above all in the face of deaths and accidents that are still recorded in various work situations”. And in saying this he remembers the three Venetian victims of the Suviana power plant tragedy.

Zaia also does not forget those who are “committed to the concerns imposed by the serious economic difficulties and the repercussions of the crisis and conflicts taking place on the international scene”. Even the 1 “makes us reflect on how peace is an indispensable value also for work. Peace, freedom and work remain essential values.” Finally, a greeting to those at work and with their professionalism, “they will guarantee everyone’s safety and essential services even on this holiday”.
