A drone to bring drugs and cell phones into the Bergamo prison: three men arrested

A drone to bring drugs into the prison. It happened to Bergamo in the prison in Via Gleno on the night between Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th April. According to the hypothesis of the agents of the Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters, three men they would hook a clutch bag that contained it hashish, cocaine and cell phones to a drone headed inside the prison. The men were accused of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking arrested and they will be tried immediately.

What the agents discovered

While they were engaged in a preventive activity service near the prison in via Gleno in Bergamo (they were in via Pizzo Scais, not far from the prison as the crow flies), the agents of the Volanti team saw three men dressed in dark, with the hood of their sweatshirt on their heads, who were taking off a drone from the ground. Suspicious, the officers approached and checked the flight device.

They found that attached to the drone was a nylon thread from which a lilac clutch bag dangled also wrapped in film. Inside there were 76 grams of hashish, approximately 18 grams of cocaine, and four cell phones. Not far away, four other mobile phones and a second cellophane-wrapped bag were also found inside a car.

The connection with prison

According to officers, the three men were trying to transporting cell phones and drugs into the Bergamo prison. It is not the first time that drones have been used to transfer objects and narcotic substances into prisons. It had already happened in the Rebibbia prison, but also in that of Turin.

The men were arrested withcharge of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. One of the three has been placed under house arrest, the other two are required to sign. Everyone will be tried immediately.
