Cna Firenze, ‘Funaro’s program for craftsmanship is good’ – PMI

The crafts program of Sara Funaro, candidate for mayor of Florence for the centre-left, “we could have written it: it has almost everything we have been asking for for years”. This was stated by Giacomo Cioni, president of Cna Firenze Metropolitana, who invites “Funaro and all the other candidates to experience first-hand” the realities of Florentine craftsmanship, “and we reiterate our total availability to collaborate with the future leadership of Palazzo Vecchio to work seriously on each of the proposals outlined.”

Luca Tonini, president of the Cna City of Florence, also expresses a positive opinion on Funaro’s program: “Ok to the House of Excellence that we have been asking for for years – he says – moreover to be positioned in the locations that we have always indicated and with the attention to the tourist decentralization that we hope for And then the orientation of students to workshops, the protection of craftsmanship compared to the opening of other activities, zero public land, spaces at controlled prices. A broad, well-thought-out program whose implementation we have been asking for some time.”

However, Cioni underlines, “craftsmanship is a varied, broad sector. It ranges from scagliola to car repair shops, from the beauty sector as a whole to transport. All dispersed throughout the municipal territory, central and peripheral areas.

The same type of protection and support is needed for each of these sectors that produce income and provide jobs in this city. These are 8,827 active companies: 37% in construction, 23% in manufacturing, 21% in services, 7% in transport and so on”.
