‘Women’s Project-Centre for Equal Opportunities’ Commission: regulation approved

CARRARA – During Monday’s session the city council approved the new regulation of the ‘Women’s Project – Center for Equal Opportunities’ commission. The document first establishes the aims and objectives of the commission, establishes the methods of its constitution, composition and duration and clarifies every aspect of its functioning. The next step will now be the opening of a public notice to identify the 15 members of the consultation to which two city councilors will be added, one from the majority and one from the minority.

«It is an institutional protection and guarantee body that promotes gender equality and aims to remove all those obstacles that can be factors of direct and indirect inequality for women. – explains the deputy mayor and councilor for Equal opportunities Roberta Crudeli – The regulation voted by the council was first discussed in the ‘Social and Equal Opportunities’ and ‘General Affairs’ commissions and consists of 16 articles. After the approval of this document, the next step will now be the identification of the components and for this reason the offices are already working to prepare a public notice. As a councilor I am very happy that the ‘Women’s Project’ commission can continue its history that began in 2001 and which for many years was unique at the provincial level.”
