VITTORIO VENETO (TREVISO) – Walking on top of the roof of theformer Italcementi of Sant’Andrea. This is the latest stunt of a group of young people who in recent days have been noticed, and immortalized, while “walking” on top of the vaulted roof of the structure where lime was once produced. A property several tens of meters highclosed for years, and has become, as has emerged, a place in which to challenge every prohibition. A scene that did not go unnoticed by various citizens who promptly alerted the police then arrived in via Carso, while the boys ran away. And this is not the first and last private place, witness to an industrial past, the target of incursions: other cases have been reported inside the former Carnielli building in via Dante.
Under the lens
On a Saturday afternoon they counted one another dozen of young people, male and female, on the roof of the former Italcementi. It was their own shouts and shouts that attracted the attention of residents and passers-by who, looking up over the fence, noticed some boys walking up and down the top of the roof. «Get down» someone shouted, fearing that something very serious could happen. But those boys continued undaunted to walk on top of the roof, at a height of several tens of metres. A concrete structure that has been abandoned for years, not sure. The boys probably snuck into the former Italcementi area after climbing over the surrounding wall which, in some places, is lower and also has cuts in the fence. Once inside they would run around the large area undisturbed and then get started the “climb” of the building, probably using the network of external stairs present and used in the past for checks and maintenance of the structure. The arrival of the police created un stampede as witnessed by those who were present. And what happened a few days ago would not be the first episode: incursions into the area by young people had already occurred in the past.
