He obtained the “Presidency” recognition for the work carried out by the sole director of the Regional Society for the Economic Development of Umbria, Michela Sciurpa. An event designed to keep attention high on the difficult combination of “Women and work”, still today a frontier of inequality, backwardness and complexity.

Sviluppumbria – which now has 53 women in its workforce out of 82 employees, 64% – has, among other things, just started the process for the Gender Equality Certification, a step strongly supported by Sciurpa, who has been at the top of the company since 2020, which for the first time in its over fifty years of history sees a woman at the wheel. The new management worked on the strategic repositioning of the Company in line with the new central and strategic role that the Umbria Region wanted to attribute to the Agency in the process started for the regional socio-economic relaunch.

Sviluppumbria today is a profoundly transformed society, a point of reference for businesses and for the territory and facilitator of complex processes – Michela Sciurpa underlined in the presentation -. The Company’s mission has been redefined to support the trajectories of innovation, internationalisation, investment attraction, promotion of tourism and valorisation of regional real estate assets and a new organizational model has been adopted capable of responding flexibly and quickly to the new needs of businesses and territories”. Tangible results, those obtained, measurable in terms of qualitative and quantitative growth of the assignments: “when I took the job, the company managed 3 tenders, which rose to 23 in 2021, to 49 in 2022 up to the current 57, managed with the same staff. Results obtained in a context of constant cost containment and saving of public resources. But also with a growing attention to corporate well-being, strengthening the commitment to promoting an inclusive work environment and combating any form of discrimination. Therefore today’s recognition represents an important recognition that demonstrates our constant commitment to promoting equality and inclusiveness in order to create a workplace where everyone can grow without gender distinction”.
