Pollution at historic lows in Civitavecchia

The weekly report from the Regional Agency for Environmental Protection regarding the pollution present in Civitavecchia is good, or rather very good. The weekly report published on the institutional website, referring to the period between 15 and 21 April, in fact depicts a situation in which the levels of pollutants are close to historic lows, also the result of a particular atmospheric situation, which favored the circulation of ‘air.


Specifically, regarding nitrogen dioxides, whose alarm level triggers at 200 micrograms, the average was 21 micrograms in the Port, 27 in Villa Albani, 20 in via Morandi and 28 in via Roma, among the most lowest ever and close to those found during the Covid-19 lockdown. Particulate matter or PM10 is still decreasing, recording a weekly average of 10 micrograms at the port, 21 in the Villa Albani control unit and, in the city context, 13 micrograms, all well below the legal limits. The value of carbon monoxide detected by the control unit in via Roma was also decreasing, recorded at 0.4 micrograms and that of Fiumaretta remained stable at 1.3 micrograms. Also in Fiumaretta, the benzene value recorded an average of 0.2 micrograms, identical to the previous report. Pollutant levels within legal limits in the various city districts. For nitrogen dioxides they range from 5 micrograms in Aurelia and Sant’Agostino, to 7 in Faro, 10 in Campo dell’Oro, 12 in San Gordiano and 15 in Fiumaretta. For particulate matter, however, they range from a weekly average of 10 micrograms in Aurelia and Sant’Agostino, to 15 in Faro, to 17 in Fiumaretta and Campo dell’Oro, ending with 18 in San Gordiano. Also decreasing compared to last week are the values ​​of ultrafine particles, the maximum value of which must not exceed 25 micrograms and which were measured at 4 micrograms in Sant’Agostino, Campo dell’Oro and Faro and 7 in Fiumaretta. .
