Damiani: “Milan, Lopetegui is not suitable. Conte would make the difference in Naples”

The former footballer and prosecutor Oscar Damiani spoke live at TMW Radioduring Maracana.

Derby d’Italia in Europe. Lukaku and Leao, who are you aiming for?
“With different characteristics, they are the spearheads of his teams. Lukaku is more present in the area, Leao is quicker in spaces. They are important and can make the difference. Leao is not going through a great moment, I don’t think he can be decisive, but it’s difficult make predictions. And then it’s not one man that makes the difference but the team.”

Do you expect any surprise moves from Pioli this time?
“Frankly, I don’t know. Loftus-Cheek is a bit inconsistent but he has physical strength that can make the difference. Pulisic is lighter but he scores goals. I don’t feel like saying how it will go. Even though Roma have the advantage, for me it’s an open game.”

Is it because of De Rossi’s confirmation in Rome?
“I expect it and I think it’s a duty. He’s worked well, he loves Roma, he’s a man of great level and I don’t think we can find better. Maybe they’ve talked between them and it’s already been decided. There are some doubts about Pioli. ‘I have been here for several years and there isn’t much on the market.

There’s a lot of talk about Conte-Napoli. What do you think?
“I would be pleased, I am fond of Naples, he could also give a lot to the city. But I don’t know if the market is ready to spend 20 million gross for him. For me, however, it makes the difference.”

And what are your thoughts on David?
“He’s a good striker but not a champion. Osimhen is difficult to replace.”
