Fedriga’s umpteenth trip to the United States

The tourism promotion of Friuli Venezia Giulia arrives in the United States of America and conquers a central point like Times Square. Through the action developed by PromoturismoFVG on the indication of the Region, the giant screens, with a surface area of ​​tens of square metres, which characterize the iconic New York square, project a video advertising campaign dedicated to our region. This is an activity never carried out before which brings the beauty and typicality of Friuli Venezia Giulia, not only in their eyes, but also on the smartphone displays of the thousands of tourists who crowd Times Square every day. The promotion of the territory is fundamental and in recent years there have been positive results, in terms of tourism and investment attractiveness, deriving from the ability to make Friuli Venezia Giulia known. The Region’s action therefore continues in this regard
direction to give new opportunities to businesses and citizens.

This is, in summary, what was announced by the governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia during the institutional mission underway in the United States, within which the president of Friuli Venezia Giulia also had the opportunity to meet the Minister of Economy and Finance, who he will be busy at the G7 scheduled in Washington. During an institutional event, which was also attended by the Italian consul general in New York Fabrizio Di Michele, the governor and the minister had the opportunity to discuss the opportunities for strengthening political and commercial relations with the USA, as envisaged also as part of Selecting Italy, the event to attract foreign investments held in Trieste in which the government representative also took part.

For the regional president, the New York meeting was therefore an excellent opportunity to show the minister the Fvg promotional campaign and discuss the opportunities deriving from the privileged relationships that are emerging with the United States and in particular with Virginia and realities such as National Italian American Foundation.

The top representative of the regional executive also met Cameron Lawrence, the CEO of the New Lab in New York, the innovation hub created in the redeveloped old
Brooklyn port, which inspired the Region for the development project of an incubator for initiatives and businesses with a strong innovative vocation in the Old Port of Trieste. The two are
discussed the possibility that New Lab could activate its own Italian branch in that area to facilitate the transmission of its skills within the initiative
planned by the regional administration
