5 years after the First Global Climate Strike, millions of people around the world will take to the streets again, and Brescia will be no exception. Friday 19 April new Fridays for Future demonstration with a march that will start at 9 am from Piazzale Arnaldo, will cross the streets of the historic center to end in Piazza Mercato where the final speeches will be held.
A mobilization not only for the climate, but also with the collaboration of the Palestinian and student realities of the area.
“The Palestinian cause is strongly linked to the climate one – explains Mariam Ahmad of the Young Palestinians Brescia – in addition to the frightening humanitarian crisis underway, the state of Israel, through the use of military means that prolong this absurd war, is issuing thousands of tons of CO2”.
The Fridays for Future Brescia therefore officially declare that they stand alongside the Palestinian people, calling for an immediate and definitive ceasefire.
“We are taking to the streets this Friday because we are angry and tired of a denialist, violent and pro-Israel government – concludes Mariasole Andreetto – Never before has the fight against the climate crisis affected us all”
