towards the ban on access ramps, the closest goal?

VIGEVANO – The publication of the tender notice for the construction of the access ramps to the new bridge over the Ticino is scheduled for the end of the month. “If the tender comes out by April, the works can start this summer – hopes Mayor Andrea Ceffa – the tender can be awarded if the deadlines are respected in May or June”. During the month of July 2023 the Province, the infrastructure contracting station, had budgeted the eight million necessary for the construction of the 450 meters needed to complete the ramp on the Vigevano side and the 770 meters necessary to complete the connection towards Abbiategrasso. The tender notice is however nearing completion and the long-awaited green light could arrive in a few weeks. The overall route of the work is approximately 1,700 meters including the 488 of the bridge section, with particular emphasis on the Abbiategia bank. The connection on that side in fact measures 770 meters compared to 450 on the Vigevano side. The traffic flow in transit detaches from the state road 494 and heads towards the bridge, crosses it and reconnects to the Vigevano road system at the roundabout located along Corso Milano. “Now the moment we have to wait for is the one that will see the completion of the access ramps – continues Ceffa – but I think the timetable can be respected”. The objective is to create the access ramps in order to completely free the old bridge over the Ticino from car traffic. And in this case, the project linked to the Traccia Azzurra cycle path, which will pass on the latter, could come back into vogue. A cycle path network that will connect the ducal city with the Abbiatense area. Traccia Azzurra will also touch the municipalities of Ozzero and Abbiategrasso. Now for the access ramps there is more confidence and optimism. Meanwhile, the assignment of the works for the construction of Section C of the Vigevano-Magenta is also expected in June. The envelopes were opened on March 8th, with companies interested in participating in the tender having had the time and opportunity to submit their applications until February 27th. The intervention in question has a length of seven kilometers and concerns the municipalities of Albairate Vermezzo, Abbiategrasso and Ozzero, in the Metropolitan City of Milan. Last March the Ministry of Infrastructure had given the green light for the project linked to the connection between the Lomellina and the Malpensa state road 336 with an intersection at the SS11 near Magenta, although it is worth specifying that the work is proceeding in stages functional and that only one section, the C from the new bridge over the Ticino to Albairate, reached the tender. In the current state of affairs, there is no longer any pessimism regarding the possibility of completing Section C of the Vigevano – Magenta with the two access ramps: all fundamental works for the Lomellino area, for Vigevano and to promote connections with the Milan area. Works long awaited by citizens.
