On 1 and 2 May, according to the program launched by the Festivities Committee, the simulacrum will be in the parish of Maria SS Immacolata in Palombaio; then from 2 to 4 May in Sant’Andrea, then from 4 to 6 May in the church of the Martyrs of Abitene. The Parish of Christ the Universal King will host it from 6 to 8 May and from 8 to 10 May it will be hosted by the community of Santa Caterina.
From the 10th to the 13th it will be at San Silvestro, while from the 13th to the 16th the parish of San Leucio will celebrate; to follow, until May 19th, the effigy of Mary SS Immaculate will be hosted in the parish of the SS Sacramento and from the 19th to the 22nd it will be in San Leone. On May 22nd you will meet in the artisan area and on the same day you will be transferred to Villa San Giovanni XXIII where you will remain until the 23rd.
A very significant passage will be that of next May 23rd in the Mons. Marena Hospice, while in the Sanctuary of the Santi Medici it will remain until the 26th. On that day, at dawn, at 6.00 am sharp, the mass will be held in the churchyard Basilica. From the 26th, the effigy will return to the Co-Cathedral and there, at 11.30, there will be the Eucharistic concelebration presided over by Mons. Giuseppe Satriano, Archbishop of Bari-Bitonto. The procession will instead begin at 6.30pm.
Last appointment for the Marian Month, as always very intense in Bitonto, set for May 28th when the Cathedral will host the lectio magistralis of the prof. Andrea Riccardi, founder of the Community of Sant’Egidio, on the theme “The audacity of Peace. Memory of John Paul II in a difficult time”.
