The eighth day of the 2023/24 Tchoukball Serie B Championship was held on Sunday 14 April. For the first time, thanks to the collaboration of the CSI of Ferrara, it was possible to tread the parquet of the recently renovated Copparo Palasport. The four teams present were Ferrara Caplaz, Ferrara Caplit, Rimini Par Tòt, Forlì No Stop.

In the first match of the day, between Caplaz and No Stop, the hosts were challenging the only team undefeated since the start of the championship (as well as the only one to beat them), looking for revenge and important points to reach the top of the table: in the seventh day, in fact, thanks to a misstep and a slightly subpar performance, Forlì No Stop achieved a draw with Savonarola On Fire, third in the class. The climate on and off the field is hot from the first minutes, with both teams asserting their competitive spirit without ever forgetting the ethical principles of sport. During the first half, the Caplaz managed to reach a 5-point lead, but made up for it in the final part of the half. In the second half, the Forlì team started off strong, reaching a 5-point lead, despite this, the Caplaz reaction was immediate: thanks to a series of defenses and excellent shot choices, the Ferrara team overturned the score, closing the half with advantage. In the final half the guests tried to get back into the game, but no Caplaz player was willing to give it to them. At the end of 45 minutes the scoreboard reads 52 to 46 for the home team.

Second match of the day between Ferrara Caplit and Rimini Par Tòt: before the match the guests find themselves in sixth place in the standings, looking for important points to continue hoping to reach fifth place which would guarantee them access to the playoffs. In the first leg the Caplits held out for two halves of play, but this time Rimini comes with much clearer game ideas and awareness of their abilities. After the first minutes, in fact, the score is 7-0 for the guests. Despite the initial blow, the Caplits manage little by little to get going and show the improvements they have been making since the beginning of the year. The final score is 33 to 49, with some disappointment for not having yet obtained points in the standings since the beginning of the year, but good indications for the future.

Third date between Ferrara Caplaz and Rimini Par Tòt: the Caplaz struggle in the first minutes to put on the field the same game expressed in the first match, despite this they manage to manage without ever losing control of the match. In the third half the home team took off, finishing with a score of 63 to 41.

Last appointment between Ferrara Caplit and Forlì No Stop: the guests make their tactical experience and technical baggage count on the young Caplits. The match flows without surprises, a note of merit for the Caplits who manage to hold on to the Forlì players for the entire duration of the match until the final score of 39 to 53.

“The eighth day gave us a lot of satisfaction, we managed to demonstrate our value on the pitch against two difficult teams to face, managing to beat one of the favorite teams for the final victory of the championship.” declares Matteo Panzetta, left wing of Ferrara Caplaz, continuing “We are focused and energized to return to training in the gym in view of the next matches, we want to give our best and arrive energized for the playoffs.”

Ferrara Caplaz virtually gain first place in the standings, still finding themselves with 2 games less than Forlì No Stop. Ferrara Caplit continue to strive to earn their first points of the season.

Next meeting Sunday 28 April in Este, where the penultimate day of the regular season will take place.
