The Five Star Movement is the first to take the field, making official the 24 names that will run on the list that supports the candidate of the progressive coalition Mauro Masciotti. A cohesive but heterogeneous group, to cover the entire territory and all age groups. The names, mandate budget and electoral program were presented by the outgoing and re-nominated city councilors David Fantauzzi and Rosangela Marotta, Andrea Pichelli and the regional councilor Thomas De Luca.
Running in coalition
Five years ago the Five Stars, in a solitary race, collected 11.56 percent. This time the race will be in coalition. “We never made preconceived opposition – said Fantauzzi – with a very attentive ear to the citizens’ requests. We made proposals and we also happened to vote in favor of proposals made by others. In fact, we remember that we voted with abstention on the first budget, during the Covid phase, but this did not help much“.
The balance sheet of recent years
So the numbers: 15 meetings of the Control and Guarantee Commission, chaired by Fantauzzi. SheThere were 57 questions presented by the Five Star Movementjust under half of the total presented by all the councillors, “from banal things, some that seem important to us and that we have repeated”. Thirty-eight motions – proposals.
The program
“We have decided, after an open discussion, to leave it to the judgment of the citizens with the progressive coalition supporting Masciotti, with conviction. We did not enter the coalition as servants. We joined a project with conditions: discontinuity with the past first and foremost“, he said Fantauzzi And Marotta he echoed by recalling the common activities of all the opposition. Also remember the activities in the Consultations. The Five Stars are proud of the list presented with 12 women and 12 men. As regards the program, the Pentastellati will deal with three key points: “improve the traffic of the historic center, improve the waste collection and city cleaning service and nominate Foligno as Capital of Culture”.
DeLuca, speaking at the end, he underlined how the choice of the Five Star Movement today is to “make a difference”. “In recent years we have gone through an evolutionary phase, abandoning the idea that the Five Stars were enough in themselves. It is clear that, in ten years, we have clashed over the limits of this idea. Today we are putting it at the service of a bigger project, a project that can change things.”
