Manfredonia. This is the story of Fabiana, a transgender girl originally from Manfredonia who has been living in Pescara for a few years and just a few years ago she started looking for a house in Pescara, she had to face several retreats from property owners, starting to suspect of not being able to conclude any contract precisely because she is transgender.
Fabiana already had the documents with the change of name to female which made her a woman for the state in all respects. So the problem is not bureaucratic but socio-cultural, after several no’s Fabiana decides to communicate in advance that she is a trans girl and if this constitutes a problem, in fact the problem clearly emerges because the agencies respond to her like this “I don’t know I have to ask the owner is a bit of a bigot” or “it’s not possible” etc.
Although Fabiana works and has a regular paycheck, she is therefore a valid candidate as a tenantpays for the rejection for the simple reason of being what she is, if she had remained in a male body that did not belong to her she would have been “accepted” because it was considered normal.
Fabiana decides to turn to the media, in particular she intervenes in Barbara D’Urso’s program explaining her situation, from that moment on some glimmers of hope begin to open up and within a few months she finds a home, all this happened about three years ago, to today he finds himself having to leave home due to the owner’s needs. Do you think she can find a home? No, the script repeats itself and Fabiana, despite continuing to have her job with all the guarantees, finds herself in the same loop as a few years ago.
This time she was invited to the Abruzzo TV network 8 to tirelessly expose the same situation once again. She exposes herself once again not only for herself but for all the people who suffer this discrimination related to gender and sexual orientation.
The appeal is this: why should a person in 2024 who needs a house which is a primary subsistence asset, who works and is in good standing, and is a good payer, still be marginalized and looked at as a plague victim?”
