ScrittuRa festival: Full program in Ravenna

From feminism to satire through the importance of words and events for children, a busy calendar of appointments for Friday and Saturday of the ScrittuRa Festival in Ravenna

Friday appointments

This afternoon, May 17th the day will be opened in the cloisters of the Classense Library at 5pm by the popularizer Gianumberto Accinelli with “Green as Italy” (Piemme) Our wonderful country and its transformations seen through the eyes of a nature expert among wolves, ants and seagulls. Dialogue with Francesca Ferruzzi.

To follow at 6.30 pm it will be the turn of the semiologist Vera Gheno who will talk with Matteo Cavezzali for “Grammamanti – Imagining futures with words” (Einaudi) in dialogue with Matteo Cavezzali. Who can call themselves a grammarian? Those who love the language in a non-violent way, study it and thus understand that they must leave it free to change according to the evolution of society, that is, the uses that people make of it every day when speaking.

It will close the day at 9 pm the activist and writer Jennifer Guerra with “Feminism is not a brand” (Einaudi). In the last ten years, feminism has returned to being a mass phenomenon, coloring the symbols of female emancipation and the noble causes associated with it pink. However, opaque operations are often hidden under this color. Is a domesticated feminism, akin to the interests of politicians and companies, really feminism? Jennifer Guerra will talk with Silvia Travaglini.

Saturday with Writing

On Saturday 18 May ScrittuRa Festival in the cloisters of the Classense Library in Ravenna will open at 5pm with Linda Traversi and her “The repairman of dreams” (Einaudi boys). Trusting others isn’t easy if you feel like you’re missing something. It risks shattering you into a thousand pieces, like a broken dream. But there are those who can fix those dreams. Dialogue with Nicoletta Bacco.

At 6.30pm satire will take center stage with Luca Bottura, author for many Italian comedians from Geppi Cucciari and Crozza, with his hilarious “Thank goodness Silvio was there” (The Ship of Theseus). Berlusconi was perhaps the most derided politician in the world, and this book is no exception. Bottura ironically talks about the “myth” Silvio, the man who brought Italy to the world the most after Leonardo da Vinci and Al Capone.

At 9pm it will be the turn of the philosopher and writer Ilaria Gaspari with “The reputation” (Guanda) in dialogue with the podcaster Gianni Gozzoli. A text that investigates the relationship between appearance and identity, the weight of slander and the difficult achievement of maturity. What happens when distrust pollutes the gaze, when the boundaries between blame and gossip become blurred, when trusting means taking risks? The protagonist of the story, Barbara, is not ready to find out, perhaps she is not ready to become an adult, yet she will have no choice.

The meetings are free of charge. The complete program on www.scritturafestival.com
