A new cycle path has been inaugurated in Caserta which goes from Corso Giannone to the Municipal Library, passing through various central areas of the city.
This project is part of the initiatives to enhance alternative mobility in the area, both pedestrian and cycle. The creation of this green infrastructure was made possible thanks to funding from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), with the aim of promoting a more sustainable lifestyle and reducing air pollution.
A cycle path in continuous development
The city of Caserta is committed to further strengthening the network of already existing cycle paths, such as those present in Corso Giannone, Via Verdi and via Renella. In the future, the implementation of further cycle paths in the Acquaviva district is planned, as part of the Urban Quality Plan (Pinqua). Once all the works have been completed, the city will be able to count on 18 km of cycle paths, offering citizens and visitors the opportunity to move in a sustainable and safe way.
The Mayor of Caserta, Carlo Marino, underlined the importance of investing in a new model of urban mobility that promotes the quality of life and safety of citizens. The Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Mobility, Emiliano Casale, also highlighted how this project will allow the adoption of advanced forms of mobility, including electric bikes and scooters. The goal is to create a modern and cutting-edge city from a sustainability point of view.
The inauguration of the cycle path represents a significant step towards greater sustainable mobility in Caserta, improving air quality and promoting a healthier lifestyle for citizens.
