From nutrition to psychiatry, free visits in Sassari for women’s health

Gynecological, breast and oncological checks are also scheduled with the AOU

Me too’University hospital company of Sassari joins theWomen’s health open week, during which free services dedicated to women’s health will be offered, with the aim of promoting information, prevention and treatment from a gender perspective.

The initiative is proposed at a national level by the Onda Foundation to hospitals with the pink stickeron the occasion of the 9th National Women’s Health Day, which occurs every year on April 22nd.

Clinical, diagnostic and information services are planned in the specialist areas of dietetics and nutrition, endocrinology and metabolic diseases, gynecology and obstetrics, gynecological oncology, breast medicine and psychiatry as part of the courses dedicated to violence against women.

We start on Thursday 18 April from 8.30am to 1pm with endocrinological visits specific to obesity. During the checks, anthropometric measurements such as weight, height and circumferences will be performed. Blood chemistry and metabolic tests and a nutritional history will then be performed.

The obesity clinic, which is headed by Dr. Francesco Tolu, is part of the complex structure of Endocrinology, nutrition and metabolism diseases directed by Dr. Mario Palermo. It is located in viale San Pietro 43/b, on the ground floor. Reservations are mandatory by calling 079.2644777 between 12pm and 1pm.

Also on April 18th from 9am to 2pm, psychiatric and psychological consultations will be carried out. It is mandatory to book by calling 079.2644640 or by sending an email to [email protected]. The Psychiatric Clinic, directed by Professor Alessandra Nivoli, is located in Viale San Pietro 8 in Sassari, on the 4th floor of the Palazzo delle Medicine.

On April 19th, from 9am to 2pm and in the afternoon from 2pm to 4pm, oncogynecological consultations will be performed in the obstetrics and gynecology clinic directed by Professor Giampiero Capobianco. The visits will take place in the clinic located on the ground floor of the Palazzo Materno-infantil, in viale San Pietro 12. Finally, on April 22nd the surgeons of the Breast Unit will carry out breast examinations, from 9am to 5pm. The Breast Unit clinics are located at Stecca Bianca, in front of the E staircase on the ground floor, in viale San Pietro 43 in Sassari. They can book patients who are not already in the care of the Breast Unit, a complex structure directed by Professor Alessandro Fancellu.
