Victory of the “children of the stars”

TOLFA – It was “The Children of the Stars” who won the 15th edition of the Championships: in addition to bringing the enormous cup to school, they will be able to spend a week in Malta, guests of the town of Għajnsielem, twinned with Tolfa. Closing with a bang for the 15th edition of the “Olympics of Culture and Talent”, promoted by the association of the same name, which was held in Tolfa and which this year achieved great success by recording a high level of cultural preparation of the students reached the finals.

The boys who showed great talent were also excellent. The wave of joy, effervescence, friendship, enthusiasm and lots of laughter was fantastic. These exceptional guys, who left on Sunday, have left a big void and everyone is counting down to next year’s finals. Teams of students from all over Italy competed. As part of the Cultural Olympics, the photography competition on the theme: “Lights and Shadows” was also held and the winner was. team of the “Exotics” of the “Da Vinci” of Maglie.

For the cinema sector, the award for “Best short film” (also chosen with the votes of the popular jury) was “Identità”, conceived and shot by the “Domum Remeati” of the Da Vinci high school. During the awards ceremony, recognition was also given for the “Cultural Relay”, which was won by the “Without too many pretensions” of the Da Vinci high school in Reggio Calabria. The two rehearsals of “Talk to us about…” were held on Saturday and Sunday morning at the Cultural Center and the “Talent rehearsals”.

The children addressed important and current issues such as: the drama of migrants, the plague of the mafia, the difficulties of adolescence, love in its various forms, friendship and the use/abuse of social media; there was no shortage of references to their origins and traditions by those who brought the dialect and popular dances to the stage. The winners of the test: “Parlateci di…” were the “Supernovae”, from the Da Vinci high school in Reggio Calabria, while two mentions went to Gherardo Granter (“VisColti” from the Visconti high school in Rome) for the best test in English, and to Stefania Calabrò (“Alea Iacta Est”, classic Reggio Calabria) for the one in Italian. The winners of the Prove Talento were: “I bambini delle Stelle” from “De Titta Fermi” in Lanciano.

Winners of the Critics’ Award” was awarded to the “Messi Male” team, from Da Vinci of Maglie (Lecce). In this edition there was a good presence of teams from the two-year period and among them they earned admission to the next final that of the “Gegeia”, of the “Carducci” of Milan. The professional journalist Cristiana Vallarino was there to award the Critics’ Award. The members of the jury that evaluated the culture at the Tolfa Cultural Center were the president Valerio Mori and with him Natalia Aradis, James Pontarelli, Andrea Sclano, Flaminia Ceccarelli, Antonio Caforio (English) and for Sant’Anna, Riccardo Ciucci and Luca Capobianco.
