Inadmissible appeals. Final sentence for the protagonists of the drug dealing ring – cocaine, crack and marijuana – which had monopolized the Salerno square, knowing no brakes even during the lockdown and which brought in up to 100 thousand euros a month. The last word was put by judges of the Supreme Court who rejected the appeals made by the defendants’ lawyers, thus making the sentences final. Over a century of prison is the total sentence inflicted on the defendants who last April had largely confirmed the sentences already imposed the previous year by the gup Giandomenico D’Agostino at the end of the rite with the abbreviated judgment. They had already given up onAppeal icollecting a penalty discount based on the Cartabia Reform the 35 year old, Luca Franceschelli considered by the investigators to be the leader of the gang, and already sentenced by the Gup to 17 years and 4 months in prison; the 33 year old Rocco Cafaro; Holy Pecoraro and the 45 year old Silvia Pappalardo.

The Court of Cassation instead made the sentences definitive for the other two chief promoters, the 28-year-old Fabio Salzano sentenced to 12 years and two months in prison and for the 43 year old Emilio Ciaglia, sentenced to 10 years and 4 months in prison. Definitive sentences also for the other defendants: 4 years and 11 months for the 59-year-old Saturday Fasano; 4 years and 9 months for Giuseppe Pennasilico and for Giuseppe Ottati; 4 years and 7 months egr Francesco Mercadante; Giuseppe Galdoporpora; Claudio Djibouti; Giovanna Liguori; Moreno Di Martino; Donato Bernardo Criscuoli and Roberto Consiglio; 3 years for Marco Milo; 6 months imprisonment for Francesco Cafaro; 2 years and 10 months for Agostino Abate; 3 years and one month for Giuseppe D’Auria; 3 years and 2 months for Alfonso Passamano; 5 years for Raffaele Scotto Di Porto; 3 years for Solferino Tiano Luciano; 2 years and 6 months for Francesco Spero; 4 years and 7 months for Walter Stabile; 4 years and 9 months for Marco Tranzillo; 6 years and 3 months for Vincenzo Ventura; 4 years and 9 months for Luca Delfino; 6 years and 10 months for Carmine Caputo; one year and 4 months for Raffaele Cocci; 2 years and 10 months for Pasquale Raucci and Raffaele Crispino; 6 years and 10 months for Luigi Mercadante. The only appeal accepted was that for Teodora Pace (already sentenced to 6 years and 10 months) who, assisted by lawyers Antonietta Cennamo and Francesco Saverio Dambrosiohad her conviction annulled and the proceedings postponed before the court Court of Appeal of the court of Naples who will have to re-evaluate the matter on the basis of the guidelines provided by the “stoats”.

THE ORGANIZATION

Association for the purpose of drug dealing was the crime alleged against the defendants accused of having set up a gang, divided into at least two groups, within which each had a very specific role. The drug dealing ring set up by the defendants would have been so large as to require periodic supplies of drugs even several times a month for a profit of around 100 thousand euros. According to the prosecutor’s accusations, the defendants had monopolized the city’s drug dealing areas according to a precise “geography”: Luigi Mercadante operated in the industrial area of Salerno; Pecoraro in the Pinocchio Park area; Agostino Abate and Ragosta in Matierno; Antonio Abate; Ciaglia and Delfino in Pastena and Mercatello; I hope in Mariconda; Tranzillo in the Pastena area and Quartiere Italia; Ventura in San Mango Piedmont and Ogliara; Fabio Saviello (aka “Cumbaro”) in Pastorano; Stable in Baronissi; Criscuoli in Ogliara; Rocco Cafaro in Pellezzano; Caputo and Molinaro in Fratte; Fiorillo (known as “Night”) in Acquamela di Baronissi; Liguori in Battipaglia and Di Martino in Sapri.
