Around 400 guests were invited to the Panathlon Club Cesena party at the Da Vinci to celebrate Cesena’s return to Serie B. In the evening organized by the club of president Dionigio Dionigi, almost the entire Juventus world was present in full force, with the management, the great majority of the team and technical staff. At the presidential table there was the entire history of Cesena, from Ettore Rognoni, son of Count Alberto, to John Aiello flanked by Anthony Scotto, Peter Ciaccia and Michael Aiello. “Ai sem dlèt”, began Dionigio Dionigi, or “we are still here” in Romagna dialect. To avoid embarrassment in the American delegation, he continued like this: “Ai sem dlèt, or here we go again … am so bagatè … I have seen the whole history of Cesena, but I didn’t remember such dominance … ”.
John Aiello let himself go on the microphone: “We are children of Italian immigrants and for us Cesena is a great passion… thank you all for your incredible attachment to the team”.
US tribute to Patrignani and his old partners
The gesture of the American ownership was beautiful: when Dionigi recalled the 2018 commitment to reviving Cesena by the group led by Corrado Augusto Patrignani, the Aiello brothers, Scotto and Ciaccia stood up to applaud Patrignani, sitting a few meters away from them.
