debate on school life
Descriptive text here

Dialogues, meetings and shows dedicated to the world of education and training are at the center of the VIII edition of Kum! Festival, the event, for the first time in Pesaro, created and directed by the psychoanalyst Massimo Recalcati, with the scientific coordination of the philosopher Federico Leoni, who from this afternoon to Sunday 7 April will question the theme “The life of the school”.

The cure

School as a place for transmitting culture and skills from one generation to another, but also as an opportunity to build relationships of trust and mutual respect, taking care of each other. It is precisely starting from the concept of care that the edition was conceived, inviting guests and the public to establish a constructive dialogue on how to improve the education system for future generations. And there was no better place than the Italian Capital of Culture to talk about the future and young people, fundamental themes of Pesaro 2024: a city that will be totally involved through the spaces chosen within the historic center: the Experimental Theatre, the Sala della Repubblica of the Rossini Theater and the auditorium of Palazzo Ciacchi. Furthermore, the Civic Museums of Palazzo Mosca will host, also with extraordinary openings, the Festival Bookshop which, curated by Librerie Coop, will present a selection of books in harmony with the theme of the edition and will propose, alongside the festival programming of conferences, a dense meet&greet calendar with the authors.

In the afternoon, at 4pm at Teatro Sperimentale, the Festival will be opened by journalists Annalisa Cuzzocrea and Marianna Aprile who will discuss the education of today’s children to hypothesize the adults of tomorrow. Also today, a meeting will be held on the figure of Riccardo Massa held by the pedagogist Jole Orsenigo, who will explore pedagogy as a science and its application in new cultural and institutional policies.

The writer Edoardo Albinati (h7pm Experimental) will share his experience of teaching in prison in the Crash Test lectio, underlining the importance of adaptability and pedagogical innovation in extreme contexts. In the evening, Rita Scocchera, vice president of the Chiaravalle Montessori Foundation, will talk about the concept of education for Maria Montessori, while the writer Francesco Chianese will focus on Pier Paolo Pasolini and his complex multiplicity. The evening ends (at 10pm) with the show La strada: a two-voice investigation into the novel by Cormac McCarthy, with the actor and playwright Mario Perrotta and Massimo Recalcati: starting from the novel of the same name by Cormac McCarthy, the two protagonists alternate between passages of the novel and their possible rereading.
