Two earthquake shocks, of magnitude 2.0 and 0.6, were recorded this evening at 7.44pm and 7.47pm, in the area of Phlegraean Fields by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology.

The seismic events, with the epicenter located in Pozzuoli, on the southern side of the Mount Olibanumoccurred at a depth of 900 meters and 1.42 kilometers respectively.

The earthquakewas distinctly felt in the epicentral area, a Pozzuoli, Agnano and Bagnoli.

Apprehension on the part of residents who on social media report several seconds of tremor accompanied by a roar.

The earthquake follows the seismic event this morning at 10.34am with a magnitude of 2.1 and with an epicenter located near the variant Solfatara.
