DAZN raises prices again! The figures of new subscriptions

According to what emerged, the plan DAZN Plus with an annual subscription will undergo a substantial increase, going from 539 euros per year (44.92 euros per month) in 2024 to 599 euros per yearequivalent to 49.92 euros per month. The DAZN Standard plan has not been spared either, with an increase from 359 euros per year (30 euros per month) in 2024 to 399 euros per yearequal to 33.25 euros per month.

This new wave of price increases comes a few months after the last price adjustment, which took place at the beginning of 2024. A decision that has unleashed the anger of fans and sports enthusiasts, who took social networks by storm to express their discontent and their intention not to renew their subscription when it expired. Many users complain that, despite the expansion of the offer with the addition of new sporting events such as volleyball and the Paris 2024 Olympicscosts are becoming unsustainable for subscribers.

The controversy fits into the context of the battle against piracy in the world of sports streaming. In fact, some users point out that, rather than encouraging legal subscriptions with affordable prices, DAZN is pushing more and more people towards illegal solutions to watch football matches and other events.

DAZN, for its part, motivated the price increase with the need to support investments in the acquisition of new top-level sports rights, such as the Paris 2024 Olympics and international volleyball. However, fans’ patience seems to have run out, and the streaming platform may face a hemorrhage of subscribers in the coming months.
