Reggio Emilia, 5 April 2024 – “In the heart of summer” is the title of the program which includes a series of cultural initiatives that will enliven the historic centre. After 12 years the concert returns to the city ‘Radio Bruno summer‘, to be held Tuesday 25 June in Piazza della Vittoria. But music will be the protagonist of a broader calendar that starts in the month of May, with events that have now become customary, such as the White dinner (22 June), and the confirmation of initiatives inaugurated last year such as “Piazza Vittoria Live – bands from Reggio Emilia in concert ” (June) and the events related to celebration of the miracle of Marchino (April 28-30). And again: from dancing to chess, from sport to pedal-powered “crickets” for the little ones. Martyrs Square of July 7, Victory SquareThe People’s Park And Prampolini square they will host events whose aim is to offer opportunities to productive activities, in particular commercial ones.
During the presentation of the review, Mariafrancesca Sidoli – councilor for Commerce and Development of the historic center – announced that the Reggio Emilia grass has overcome the obstacle of the Ministry of Agriculture and is now waiting for Brussels to confirm its PGI recognition (we talk about it on a separate page). “The initiatives we present are part of a constant and daily public discussion on the historic center of our city, to implement events aimed at a heterogeneous public and which can impact the overall attractiveness of the center. It will not be the only one proposal, because there will also be the Stayfestivals Reggionarra, International kids and Emergency – said Mayor Luca Vecchi – What is fundamental is to have a collaborative spirit between public and private, of individual citizens, to find a balance between those who want to experience the center and those who live in the centre”. And Mariafrancesca Sidoli then added: ” Inside the Piazza dei Teatri, many initiatives will take place and the whole center will be a great showcase for events capable of involving an audience of all ages”.
At the presentation The manager of the Productive Activities Service of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia also participated, Lorena Belli; Gianni Prandieditor of Radiobruno; Davide Zanichelli, director of the Palazzo Magnani Foundation. And the representatives of the various trade associations, who made sure to extend the invitation to their members to keep their shop windows open to coincide with the appointments. Besides the Radio Bruno estate, set up in Piazza della Vittoria, there will be I Wednesday at the park (22 and 29 May – 5, 12, 19 and 26 June). Six evenings in which you can eat under the stars, let the children play on the “tricycle crickets”, which will return to Piazza della Vittoria, and watch a different show every evening. It will still be there Piazza Vittoria Live – Reggio Emilia bands in concert (31 May, 1, 2, 14,15 and 16 June). Friday 21 June there will be a music festival in Piazza Prampolini and on Saturday 22 June “Sapori di stelle” will return, the white dinner which this year will have as its underlying theme “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. There will be ballroom dancing in Piazza Prampolini (6 July) and the days of the miracle will be revived, an event dedicated to the miracle of Marchino, from 28 to 30 April with cultural and religious events and market entertainment proposals along Corso Garibaldi, in memory of the miraculous events of 1596.
